This and That!

How about a post filled with unrelated thoughts and pictures? Yes, no?  Here I go.

~Do people not use email anymore? I am sick and tired of getting s-l-o-w responses, or no reply at all. I've said it before, and I think it's just that people don't want to correspond with me through email. They'd prefer I call them on the phone or show up at their house for a real heart to heart. And if they don't answer the phone when I call, it's their way of saying they want me to leave a long-winded message, just so they can replay it over and over and over whenever they miss the buttery sound of my voice.

~Erin, Maren and I began tap class again in September (after an early summer intro). Megan's schedule simply wouldn't allow her to join us this round. =/  Have I mentioned this is my first time ever taking any dance class? I'm just not very coordinated. Transitioning between various steps always mixes me up, but it's still fun. I can laugh at myself even though the teacher probably feels like kicking me out. I'd have to take intensive, 24/7 private lessons in order to get much better. It doesn't help that I've had to miss about 4 evenings of class due to other scheduling conflicts.

~ When I'm anywhere that sells toys, sometimes I look to see if they have any new Lalaloopsy dolls. Here's what we've collected over the last 2 years or so...  Most of these "belong" to Cora and Jane.  =)

I think they are sooo cute!

A cinnamon roll dress with matching hat? And a pink meringue-shaped dress? Doesn't get more adorable than that.

And one with cotton candy? When will the sweetness cease? Not that I want it to...

~ Back at the end of August, the kindergarteners at Oliver's school had a tie dye night. (I shared this on Facebook, but didn't tell it here. Sorry to any of you who've heard this.) Anyway, parents were instructed to bring their students and help them dye a t-shirt to be worn on certain Tuesdays throughout the year. The teachers sent home an informative flyer about it. The sentence that stood out to me the most:
"Please wear clothes that you will be comfortable dying in."   *Gulp*
Couldn't they come up with a better way to word that?  Ha!

~ I can't stand the term "doorbuster". I think it's stuff like this that encourages humanity to behave the way they often do when it comes to holiday shopping. It's like an invitation to be forceful and out of control.

~ Another phrase that bugs me: "gone viral". I'm simply weary of hearing it every stinking day. Sure, I'd like to achieve Internet fame like the rest of mankind. I'm just suggesting we come up with a less annoying name for it. As a side note, what will probably eventually need to happen is a reality show featuring all the folks whose contributions to the world "went viral", then got swept aside by the next batch of cute/clever/crazy videos/photos/letters . The show would be called "The Viral Spiral".  =)

~Either I have the wrong friends or the wrong face. =) I think it's funny when I see a female friend post a photo to Facebook and a bunch of gals will comment on how hot/gorgeous/beautiful she is. It makes me wonder why my friends don't leave similar comments on any of my pictures. I'm comfortable with myself and it doesn't hurt my feelings, but I'm curious to know if it's more that my FB friends generally don't say things like that to any of their pals, or if it's more that they think I'm a butterface. =) It reminds me of a quote seen years ago at my mom's in-home photography studio--
"If you want a better picture, bring a better face."  =)
I've long been glad NOT to be one of those obviously beautiful people. I think it would be boring knowing most everyone was attracted to me. Being in my "average looks boat" (if that) always made the occurrence of a reciprocated crush all that more rewarding. I've always considered mutual attraction somewhat of a miracle. =)

~This is old summery news, but I've had this list going since before then, so I'll still bring up the topic -- Swimsuits with halter tops (straps tied around the back of the neck)... Who on earth thinks these are comfortable? I guess they're great if you like carrying your entire body weight around your neck. That's exactly what it feels like. It's a terrible arrangement for someone like me who already suffers from bad posture. I'm probably going to be folded in half by age fifty on accounta' all my slouching. Better quit with the burdensome halter tops ASAP.

~Now that summer is a distant memory, lotion in a purse seems like a no-brainer. And I don't mean simply carrying a small bottle of it in said purse. I mean directly filling that purse with free-flowing lotion. Then when parched hands need an emergency dose of moisturizer, all you do is dunk them in the purse. No more rifling through the depths of a bottomless bag, fumbling to open a lotion cap in a moment of desperation.

~I don't like to comment on or "like" things too often on people's FB stuff, especially if I don't know them very well. I have this fear it will draw attention to the fact that they are still friends with me but don't really want to be, leading to a super ugly unfriending.

~Let's end this posting on a super-cute note. Of all the things that make me happy, let me add our bunnies to that list. In case anyone missed it the first or seventh time.

I love it when Mimi stands up so tall she nearly loses her balance.

Mable has such a sweet countenance. She is snugglier than Mimi is. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but Mimi is a lot smaller than Mable.

It's so cute when they stretch out like this.
She looks like one of those draft dodgers people used to put by the front door on cold nights.

Have you hugged a bunny today?

I have.
